Originally from Togiak, Kinka is an Alaska Native Yup'ik Eskimo and has lived in Alaska her entire life. After attending Mt Edgecumbe High School, she moved to Anchorage in 2005. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Rural Development from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks but found her passion in helping people achieve their dream of home ownership. Her experience in lending started out with processing mortgage loans then working for a non-profit organization helping low to moderate income borrowers which allowed her to understand the process of home buying from start to finish. Her background gives her insight to the various programs out there that help with preparation and education of home buying to down payment assistance programs.
When not working, Kinka has two daughters, ages 8 and 4, and enjoys family activities such as sewing, cooking, and baking. She also enjoys the outdoors and going back to Togiak whenever possible to help with subsistence activities.
